What is a signature cut and an automatic signature?

I'm looking up / signed baseball memorabilia Autographed on ebay, and I keep reading about "cut" signatures and "Auto" signatures. What is the difference how can you tell if an autograph is original or "stamped"? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A signature cut means that the autograph was cut from a document of such control or something. Cut autographs are generally available in packs of sports cards of deceased players because they can not actually sign the cards and memorabilia for this question. Auto signatures are where the player actually autographed card. Ebayers are supposed to mark the item description or not the autograph is a stamp or signature legitmate. Usually autographs come with a COA (certificate of authenticity). This testifies that the witness was present reputable a la carte or memorabilia was signed. However, autograph cards distributed in packaging are authenticated by each individual firm.
