What good are price guides for antiques that people will not pay those prices?
The term "book price" intimidating to potential buyers, so why are many price so published guidelines? I noticed on Ebay that things like glass, ceramics and other "collectibles" are usually sold for 10 to 50% of current book prices.
A good starting point is the 50 of book value. The truth the matter is – only worth what someone will pay for it. I can not pay the rent glassware and ceramics.
