Has anyone Riverview Roller Rink photographs, films or other collectibles?
Riverview Park was located on Belmont just aveunue west of Western in Chicago, Illinois. Riverview Park closed in 1967. The rink remained open until 1971 when it was destroyed by fire. There are currently meeting Riverview former skaters and their families gather. The meeting happened consistently since over 25 years. It is being organized by and held at Spanky coachlite in suburban Chicago. The group has gathered a considerable amount of spare collection. One thing that is missing is footage of the rink. maybe a 16 mm film or 8 mm is in your parents' attic or in a box without labels can in a box.
I am Ch 11 had a special on some time back that had pictures of Riverview. It was a show about old time Chicago and they have compiled by asking people to send their home movies. I do not know if they sell copies of the series, but they sometimes do seel DVD / videos of their shows made locally. check with them. Chicago History Museum also perhaps some things. I look too.
