What camera, 450D or 40D photos of a rally of the Championship?

Hello guys, Before I begin, I would say I'm an amateur complete with respect to D-SLR and any help and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Anyway, as mentioned above, I'm looking buy myself a D-SLR and start taking some photos in personal memories of the very fast moving sport that is the World Rally Championship, as I began to travel to events very often. If necessary, I am willing to pay extra money for the 40D if it is necessary but I'd like your opinion on which camera is best for the job, and also what I would probably require lenses as spots visualization can vary from long straight with plenty of scoring opportunities down to the tight turns with barely time to take pictures whatsoever. Moreover, being the amateur that I am I wonder if the 40D can be a bit too much for me to manage for the moment that many consider "semi" the body of a pro? Any help will be greatly appreciated. True enought, you pay a higher price, you get something better and that is why there is a price mechanish exist, my opinium. But I must be frank with you, having an EOS 40D in your hand increases your chances of getting a good, fast action motor sport since the camera has 6.5 frames per second drive. This is a advanatge added for beginners, because it engages min 5 frames per second. You no longer think, go for EOS 40D, it is much more robust than those for EOS 450D. If you see buying the EOS 40D is the long-term use and interest, chances are that you would agree me.
