My 16yr. old son likes russian history, art, etc. and wants memorabilia.?
He is also fascinated with other countries like Switzerland, he watches history channel all the time and documentarys. I saw a t-shirt on amazon that I thought about getting him for Christmas that is black with the red Russian Star on it. Is is appropriate for him to wear it? I am not educated on the meanings behind Russia’s customs and we are not from Russian decent. I do not want to offend anyone. I did buy him a Ushanka with a Russian emblem on it. He does collect things from other countries as well. Someone please enlighten me on this subject. Thanks!
I have spent my entire life in the military defending every American citizens liberties, rights and their persuits of happiness!
I would say your son has every right to purchase, own, show, wear, collect what he wishes for in life, no one should have the right to prevent his persuit of happiness.
The truth today we let everyone dictate their lives on us, out of fear of offending others we give up what makes us happy and thats just not what our founding fathers put down on paper. I have seen offensive clothing, clothing that mocks you name it “the U.S.A.” I say if people can wear this there should be no reason your son can’t put on what he wishes.
There are no laws preventing him wearing what he wishes to,school codes maybe(they have changed alot since I was a kid),if you can purchase the item in the store, internet, catalog then they are considered in my mind legal!
I was here in Germany when the wall came down, and just two nights ago when nine more countries removed all border gates, guards this finally means unrestricted travel.like Norway to Italy it’s fantastic! The U.S. and Russia are not really enemies anymore there is tension sure only because Russia is still trying to cope with the world situation and it’s many freedoms!
If your son comes across some one that is offended he need not apologize. But ignore the individual and walk away. The people in the U.S. as you know are greatly diverse and everyone tries to force their belief on others, trying to appease all is physically and mentally tireing and a waste of time!
His best source for following his hobbies are E-bay and Amazon as they are also here in Europe and he might just find what makes him happy, although he must watch American laws for imports, the do’s and don’t!

Send an e-mail asking for what you want and they will let you know if that’s possible!
I really don’t know all of your sons interests over Russia so I thought some of the books would be nice and a variety!
